The Best Roadtrip Ever

The start of our roadtrip, we decided to go through Virden, since Forest lived there for a while growing up and wanted to show me around so here is the old Virden School and below is a house that he used to live in which I thought was so cute!
Here was our first stop in El Paso, TX. We stopped to eat some BBQ at Famous Daves. In case you didn't know, I am a food junkie, I love to watch Diners, Drive In's, and Dives on the Food Channel so Forest made sure that we stopped at different places to try different kinds of foods. So here is some pictures from dinner and all the different yummy BBQ sauces they had.

Here was another stop, we went to Fuddruckers on our way back home because I love their Cajun Chicken Sandwiches, which they didn't even have here, and they had frozen hamburgers, but this is Forest bringing me some condiments and a couple of us eating.

This was our first stop where we actually stopped to sleep. I think we had been driving about 18 hours at this point. But I liked the Texas shaped room #.
Here was some crazy weather in West Texas, it was so foggy but so warm!
This is the turn off to Pyote & Kermit, TX. I used to lived in Pyote as a baby and was born in Kermit, TX.
This is where we actually made it to the concession trailer in Ore City, TX. I was really excited.

After we picked up the trailer, we were only about 30 minutes out of Louisiana & since I have never been there we decided to go. The guy we bought the trailer from told us the "short cut" to the state line or what I like to call the "back woods of Texas & Louisiana" we should've stuck to the main highways because it was scary, the kind of scary you see on movies where someone is looking for a main road and all the citizens there are sitting on their porches and won't give you any info. It was a little scary, but made us kind of laugh.
We went into the Red River District which is like a big casino town, and I wanted to try some Cajun food there so we found a buffet in 1 of the casinos there and it was soooo yummy. We didn't stay long because to say the least we looked a little out of place there but it was fun and interesting to see the new scenery.
This was on our way back to AZ- on our 22 hour stretch at about 4:30 AM and we found these enormous life sized pinatas that were so funny. They were only $20 and I really wish we would've bought them now.

So, me & Forest had our reception planned for the 21st of February but he had bought a concession trailer on the very West end of Texas that we needed to pick up, so even though our reception was the following Saturday- we started our long roadtrip on Monday- By the time we were done we had gone appx. 2750 miles in 3 days. There was a point that we were awake for 22 hours. It was the funnest week I have ever had.
